Storybox Playlist: Stories of New Babies
When a new baby is born, an entire community transforms. Women become mothers and grandmothers and aunts. Men become fathers and grandfathers and uncles. Boys become brothers and girls become sisters. Neighbors flock to see the baby and bring food. It is a celebration that is at once renewing and enormous. David Sewell McCann fell in love with spinning stories in first grade – the day a storyteller came to his class and captured his mind and imagination. He has been engaged in storytelling all of his adult life through painting, film-making, teaching and performing.
