Summer Explorer Book and DIY Explorer Bags
Martin & Sylvia love to explore their backyard. They are expert explorers, in fact, and are always ready for an adventure. Their excitement for exploring inspired the Summer Explorer Book below, a rich resource that includes a tutorial for making your own explorer bags and adventuring around your home, town, and beyond!
These explorer bags are quick to put together — you probably have most of the items hanging around your house already. Kids are born explorers and young naturalists, so follow their lead and explore your home and the yard around it — even if it’s just a tiny strip of grass and trees between the sidewalk and road.
You'll find the complete instructions within the Summer Explorer Book , but here's a preview of what you'll need to get started:
- 1 canvas or reusable small tote bag
- 1 small notebook with blank pages
- 1 magnifying glass
- 1 pencil, sharpened
- Length of twine
- Several small tins
- Magnifying insect box
- 2 band-aids
- 1 small cloth bag
Most importantly, don't forget to download our full Summer Explorer Book
