Story Support for Parents and Teachers
What makes Sparkle Stories ... Sparkle Stories? What makes us different than, say, children’s podcasts? or audiobooks? or Disney? or Netflix Kids?
- Yes, our stories are entertaining.
- Yes, our stories are developmentally appropriate and easy on sensitive ears.
- Yes, our production values are high, and our content is rigorously edited and brand-consistent.
But what makes us unusual — even unique — is that our stories all offer a seed of learning. They inspire, calm, affirm, and enlighten, as well as tickle, move, and empathize with our listeners. This means parents can use the stories to help their children with common thresholds, and teachers can use our stories to support their classrooms.
We hear from you that you see it, too.
Your messages tell stories of the shift in sibling dynamics, or the confidence growing in a struggling learner. You’ve written to us about the daughter who now speaks up in class, and the son who goes right in to clean his room.
If you would like clear examples of what I’m talking about, listen to the stories in this playlist. Or check out one of these collections: “Being with Fear,” “Stories for Moving,” “Diversity,” or “Dry Gables: Good Neighbors.”
Here’s something I often say: children do not need to be entertained, they need to be fed. And feeding them pure, wholesome, and nutritious stories is what we aim to do.

About the Author
David Sewell McCann
David Sewell McCann fell in love with spinning stories in first grade – the day a storyteller came to his class and captured his mind and imagination. He has been engaged in storytelling all of his adult life through painting, film-making, teaching and performing. Out of his experience as a Waldorf elementary class teacher and parent, he has developed a four step method of intuitive storytelling, which he now shares through workshops and through this website.
