Meet the Cast of "The Fool's Tale"!
We're just about a week away from our Halloween story event, "The Forest of Magic and Mystery"! Sparkle is collaborating with some of Austin's best theatrial and storytelling talent to bring you “The Fool's Tale” on Halloween — a ten-part story experience. For more information about the event itself, visit this post on our blog. Today, we'd like to introduce you to our cast! We're so excited for this event. We hope you are too!
Matt Hislope as The Fool
Matt Hislope is the Managing Director of Austin’s Rubber Repertory. He has also performed with Rude Mechs, Esther’s Follies, Shanghai Disney, and Universal Studios Hollywood.
John Christopher as Falconer
John is originally from Austin but spent a few years studying Acting in Los Angeles where he played a few significant roles (George INTIMATE APPARREL, Walter Lee Younger A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Al Fayoumy THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT, Balthazar OUR LADY OF 121st STREET). Upon returning to Austin he has don several plays on the local scene including several plays at Zachary Scott theatre and Hyde Park Theatre. Most recently John was one of the letter respondents in Austin Playhouse’s production of TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS.
Finn Sewell McCann as Milton, The Falconer's Apprentice
Finn is a sophomore at McCallum Fine Arts Academy, majoring in performance theater. He has participated in many shows at his school, as well as worked with friends and family on a variety of projects, including the popular Horsemen podcast. Finn hopes you enjoy the show.
Heath Allyn as Robyn, the Miller
Heath Allyn is a multiple award-winning actor, voice actor, writer, and director as well as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer. A reviewer once called his Banquo in a production of Macbeth, "Abundantly Audible," so you know, there's a good autobiography title.
Nick Saldivar as The Traveling Minstrel
Nick is a senior at the University of Texas, he is a Theatre and Dance major and recently has recent theatrical credits at Baron Tuzenbach in The Three Sisters, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, and Robert Ferrars in Sense and Sensibility. Halloween is Nick's favorite holiday, and he can't wait to spend this Halloween doing what he loves!
Michelle Alexander as Darla, the Baker
MICHELLE ALEXANDER is an Austin native and is excited to spend some time in this Halloween production! She has appeared in several productions around Austin in a variety of theatres. Most recently seen in ZACH Theatre’s Notes From The Field as a variety of characters; Acorn and Robin with Pollyanna Theatre Company, SaulPaul’s Alien Adventure at Scottish Rite Theatre and Single Black Female at GroundFloor Theatre, by the incomparable Lisa B Thompson. Jason Phelps as The Poet
Jason is a multi-disciplinary performer and teacher who has been involved in theatre, dance, music, commercial acting, voice-overs, and education for over 30 years. More info at www.JasonPhelpsCreates.com
Christina Blake as The Baker's Daughter
Christina is an actor whose most recent theater appearance is Mimi in Harry and the Thief at Austin Playhouse. Her main work has been in short films. Christina is in her senior year as a theatre major at The University of Texas. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in voice and on camera acting.
Kathleen Fletcher as Slops the Garbage Maiden
Kathleen is a performer and playwright whose work has been featured around the country, running the gamut from her electric blues band to original fringe shows, museum interpretation, and running creative writing workshops. In addition to The Fool's Tale, she can currently be seen in her new show, Edith Wilmans on her Campaign Tour.
Bethany Harbaugh as Queen
Bethany has been a company member with Pollyanna Theatre for over 10 years. She also often performs with Outreach Productions and Paramount Theatre's Story Wranglers. An avid reader, Bethany loves encouraging that same love of literature and stories in others!
David Sewell McCann as Guide
David Sewell McCann is a classic storyteller who has written and told over 1400 original stories for Sparkle Stories, an online children’s entertainment platform. For the last three years he has honed his transformative storytelling process into four easy steps which he now shares with leaders in education, government, and business.
