Martin & Sylvia's: Saturdays! Printable Project Page: Sick Day Boats
In the Martin & Sylvia: Saturdays! story, “Spring Thaw Paddle Tour”, Martin has a fever and won’t be able to attend the annual Spring canoe tour. So Sylvia decides to make him his own “boat tour” from things she has found at home. Would you like to make your own boat show? Sylvia uses clean sponges, Popsicle sticks and a few pieces of duct tape to make hers.
You can cut the sponges with a pair of scissors, make the sail out of duct tape (you choose the colors!), and then stick the mast (the popsicle stick through a small slit in the sponge - and voila! Bath boats!
About the Authors
David Sewell McCann
David Sewell McCann fell in love with spinning stories in first grade – the day a storyteller came to his class and captured his mind and imagination. He has been engaged in storytelling all of his adult life through painting, film-making, teaching and performing. Out of his experience as a Waldorf elementary class teacher and parent, he has developed a four step method of intuitive storytelling, which he now shares through workshops and through this website.
