Martin & Sylvia's: Saturdays! Printable Project Page: Clothespin Dolls
In the Martin & Sylvia: Saturdays! story “A Peg Doll Party,” Sylvia discovers a bin of old wooden pegs which Momma played with when she was a girl. Momma tells her about all the dolls she made out of the wooden pegs, and then brother and sister make their own!
You can make your own out of wooden clothes pins. Here are two different kinds of clothes pins and ways you can decorate them. You can draw with colored pencils, paint with small brushes, or use crayons or markers. Yarn can be used for hair and you can even glue bits of felt or cloth for clothes!
About the Authors
David Sewell McCann
David Sewell McCann fell in love with spinning stories in first grade – the day a storyteller came to his class and captured his mind and imagination. He has been engaged in storytelling all of his adult life through painting, film-making, teaching and performing. Out of his experience as a Waldorf elementary class teacher and parent, he has developed a four step method of intuitive storytelling, which he now shares through workshops and through this website.
