Johnny Boy Takes: My Favorite Ice Cream Flavors
Hello world! It’s me, Johnny Boy Nebraska.
Today I’m here to tell you about my favorite interesting ice cream flavors you can order online (and some recipes to make your own).
But first — Holy Moly Guacamole, I hope you guys have been listening to Life as a Martian! If you haven’t heard it yet, start by listening to the first episode. It’s all about what life is like for a real live Martian in Greenhorn, Florida.
Last week, I told you about so many things! But if you had a chance to listen to this week’s episode already, then you know that there are a couple things I didn’t tell you about that are important.
And one of them is ice cream. That brings us back to today’s post!
There are many kinds of ice cream, and I hope one day to try them all. Now, I know other people — Earth People — like ice cream too because I see them at the ice cream shop, but I REALLY like it. Like, I could eat it right now. The taste is just … so good. It’s almost magical! I mean, think about it — how does MILK become ICE CREAM? (Well, it turns out there’s actually some pretty cool science behind ice cream and what makes it so delicious!)
I’ve also learned that there are SO MANY interesting flavors of ice cream! I’ve made a list for you of my top five all-time favorites. So here they are! These are my favorite interesting ice cream flavors you can order online.
Butter Pecan
Order Online from Leopold’s Ice Cream
Okay, I just have to start with this ice cream, because it really is my all-time favorite flavor. I could eat it almost anytime. I could definitely eat it now. It’s butter pecan! And this one is made in Savannah, Georgia (which is really close to me here, in Florida) and loaded with Georgia pecans. Maybe I will go visit them one day! But for now I can always order online, which is something we’ve learned how to do on the computer!
Snap N’ Crackle Marshmallow Treats
A recipe from Salt and Straw You so rock!
Okay, this one is just a recipe but I had to include it because I didn’t know BREAKFAST food flavors could be in ice cream too, but I guess they can. Wow! Anyway, this one is an ice cream with cereal in it and I really like it. Check out the recipe to make some yourself at home (with your parents’ help of course) from Salt and Straw above!
“Not Fried Chicken” Ice Cream Bucket
Order Online from Life Raft Treats
THIS ice cream is probably the most interesting-looking of all the ice creams I’ve seen. It looks just like a bucket of chicken, but it’s NOT a bucket of chicken. It’s really a bucket of ice cream bars that only LOOK like pieces of chicken. They are made with milk, chocolate, vanilla, and even ice cream cone bits to make them look like... chicken. Holy Moly Guacamole, that’s really cool! And if you want to make your own ice cream sandwiches at home, we have a Sparkle Kitchen recipe for that too!
Roasted Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam (Dairy Free!)
Order Online from Jeni’s Ice Cream
I love this one because it’s both salty and sweet. And while a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is already very good, peanut butter and jelly ice cream is even better! I also like that it’s dairy free- because ice cream is SO good, and not everyone can eat dairy, but I just think everybody should be able to eat ice cream if they want to!
Nana Banana
Order Online from Museum of Ice Cream
The place that makes this ice cream is so incredible! They are a really cool museum called the Museum of Ice Cream. I would really like to visit there one day. The museum connects people based on this thing they all have in common. They call it something like “the universal power of ice cream.” I think that’s really great! They have a bunch of flavors you can order online, and my favorite is the banana-flavored one. We also have a recipe for banana flavored ice cream right here on the Sparkle Blog! You can make it at home.
I hope you like all of the ice cream flavors! If there’s a flavor we missed that you want to tell us about, or if there’s anything else you’d like to hear from me on the Sparkle Stories blog, email info@sparklestories.comand let us know!
