Friday's Kind Words: An Original Letter from the Thomas Family
I'm sitting here, in my cozy home in South Africa while my son is curled up on a bunch of pillows listening intently to the Martin and Sylvia Winter series. I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am to you and your team at Sparkle Stories for sprinkling a little bit of magic into our lives.
Our older son is a very willful kiddo. He is quick to anger and has so much passion and energy inside of him, it's hard to contain sometimes, which leads to meltdowns and hurt feelings. About 2 years ago, I started sitting with him first thing in the morning to listen to your stories, hoping to establish a peaceful rhythm from the get go. At first, he couldn't sit still to make it through a single story, but I persisted and, in the early light of each morning, while the coffee maker began percolating and suffusing the house with that quintessential morning aroma, we sat together to listen to your weekly podcast.
As soon as he started asking me to listen to more stories throughout the day, I knew that we were ready to make a long-term commitment. We backed your kickstarter campaign and became proud subscribers to your stories. There hasn't been one day where we didn't listen to one of your stories. They are as much a part of our family routine as brushing our teeth and help to provide a sense of calm and peace to our lives.
They have also helped to ignite several discussions about making new friends (we move around a lot), fear or losing loved ones, and why our siblings act the way they do.
Thank you, especially, for the Willowbee series and the Martin and Sylvia series; they are my son’s favorite. And, as per my son’s request, this has been an original letter from the Thomas Family. We hope you enjoyed it!
