Friday's Kind Words: Listening Without Pause
My kids have been listening to Sparkle Stories since they were 4 and 5, and now they are 9 and 10. For many years they loved Junkyard Tales, Willowbee Tree, Sparkle Sleepytime, but most of all Martin and Sylvia. We’ve listened to Martin and Sylvia over and over (and over!) after school, and it has saved my life on many occasions while running errands in the car.
But now! Quite suddenly my nine year old boy has taken to the Violet Crown/Light of Olympus/The Bridge Between, and has been listening to the stories end to end and without pause. He is now full of questions about all the olympians and wanting to check books out of the library, wanting to know these gods and their stories. Your stories have opened up a whole world to him that he didn’t know existed.
