Friday's Kind Words: Just Like Martin & Sylvia
Kiddo wanted to do Thursday Nature School, just like Martin and Sylvia. So off to the river we went this morning. We saw this handsome beetle, dragonflies, hoverflies, butterflies and a pair of swans with their cygnets. We talked about the lily pads and how their stems and roots keep them anchored in the water. We looked at the ripple of different places in the river and noticed there is a faster flow in the middle where it is deeper. We poked around the shallow edges and observed sandy mud there like at the beach. We saw someone foraging for nettles and elderberries on the river bank, which promted at discussion about plants that are safe (and unsafe) to eat.
