Friday's Kind Words: New Ways of Thinking
"This fall marks our four year anniversary of sparkle stories. We started when my eldest son was 4 yo, younger than Sylvia, and I needed a non-screen time entertainment for him while I put my youngest son down for a nap. We would act out Martin and Sylvia's adventures in those lazy, home centered afternoons.
Now he is older than Martin and enjoying his Nature School Adventures. I see his deep thinking as he listens to the characters explore interpersonal relationships and their own internal experiences. I often look for a story that I think will talk to him and what he is experiencing in his own life; Halloween magic, sleepless nights, fear, bullying, the wonder of Christmas, the beauty of the season. The stories bring him calm and open him to new ways of thinking, I can see it in his eyes.
Thank you to David for sharing his talent and to Lisabeth for recognizing it and helping it become available to us all. We appreciate you and what you have brought to our family. Keep up the great work!"
